James Davidson, AIA
Principal
James Davidson is the founder and principal of James Davidson Architects. He has practiced architecture for more than twenty years and is a registered architect in Washington, California, Arizona and Montana. He is recognized by clients and colleagues for his rigorous attention to detail, insightful creativity and collaborative approach to the design process.
Jim received his Masters of Architecture degree from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design in 1990. He also studied architectural design at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL and archaeology and political science at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His holds a BA in General Studies from the University of Calgary in Alberta Canada.
Jim has taught design studios and technical classes at the University of British Columbia and the University of Washington, and has directed research projects in the area of digital media and architectural design. His academic work includes research projects in Mantova and Venice Italy.

Shane McGilvra, AIA
Project Architect
Shane joined James Davidson Architects in 2005. Prior to joining the firm he worked as an intern architect for Watermark Estate Management Services LLC. While with Watermark he worked on a number of large custom residential projects in Washington and California, and was instrumental in developing and maintaining an extensive record drawing archive and database.
Shane is a registered architect in the state of Washington. He completed a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Washington in 2002, and a BFA from the University of Texas. He also has worked a number of years in the construction industry.

Andrew Russin
Project Architect
Andrew joined James Davidson Architects in January 2016. He has experience with residential, multifamily, commercial and institutional projects. He has a deep knowledge of land use and building permit processes.
Andrew has a BA Arch from Washington University, St Louis and an MArch from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Daniela Dron
Interior Designer
Daniela has been with the firm since 2006. Her particular attention to detail, scale, and light contributes to the development of spaces that are elegant and harmonious.
Her strength is in color and materials, with a thorough working knowledge of upholstery fabrics, floor coverings, furniture lines and finishes. Her frequent travels to Europe offer a regular supply of new inspiration and material resources. Daniela received her Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from Cornish College of the Arts in 2005.

Alison Rathbun
3d Artist & CAD Drafter
Alison joined the firm in May 2017. She had previous experience as a graphic artist in video, television, and web design which utlize her skills in various 3d applications and PHotoshop. She specializes in creating photorealistic renderings of architectural spaces and buildings. She enjoys problem sovling and modeling custom 3d objects in Revit, Sketchup and Blender.
Alison has an Associates of Applied Art from the Art Institute of Seattle in Computer Animation in 1998, and two Associates of Applied Science degrees from Lake Washington Institute of Technology in Architectural Graphics in 2007 and Computer Security and Network Technology in 2012.
