A renovation of an existing home built in the 1970's. The original building was an unremarkable contemporary 70's tract home design of the time with broad views of the Puget Sound and Olympic peninsula to the west, but with a foreboding and unwelcoming public facade.

The owner's desire was to have a more "traditional" feel for the home and more approachable and accommodating entrance.

For the exterior, the design created layers of semi-public space from the drive to the front entrance that would create out door social space, while on the inside the plan was opened up to create a large open living space.
